Covid Days
2021
It takes me a whole day
to get through the day
day after day
while we wait the day of
our reckoning: vaccination
whichever day our age
brings due. Some day
my day will come.
Maybe Easter I will venture out
clad in purple while the nurse
wears white to pierce my suspended
muscle with a nail as sharp
as a lily painted on the desert.
